Prompting Inmate Bloggers Promotes Deeper Thinking

Steven D. Jennings

int

Blogging is such a great tool for rehabilitation. That is one reason why Suzie and I created Stone City Blog. We want all inmates to have access to this new and effective rehabilitative tool.

I’d like to encourage everyone who reads Stone City Blog, to reach out to the bloggers, and prompt them. Ask them critical questions that will inspire deeper thought and self reflection. By doing so, you could be that one thing that inspires great change within an inmate and his rehabilitative efforts. Stone City Blog gives you access to over 1,000 posts written by over 100 inmates. All of these inmates can be contacted via email (JPay).

In this post I will respond to THREE PROMPTS from Sandra Rogers.

PROMPT #1) How will you achieve a balance between redemption and rehabilitation?

This prompt is awesome. It brings a whole new dimension to my thought…

Happy Thanksgiving to those who are Thankful!!!

143489-happy-thanksgiving

Because under these circumstances (of incarceration), it becomes more obvious how important the times are for us to spend certain occasions with our loved ones – so, it doesn’t become as important to observe the EXACT date of Thanksgiving, as much as the recognition of our time to reflect on what (and WHO) we are thankful for.

I personally don’t have many in my life to spread these feelings with and for, so I appreciate Stone City Blog for allowing us this oppertunity to share a positive blessing with those who care.

Much Love, and Happy Holidays!!!

A VOICE

I wouldn’t be able to have a voice outside these prison walls if it weren’t for a wife of one of my friends. Between the two of them I am able to say things I have never been able to say before. I have a voice and its being heard.

Who might be listening? That’s a good question. I have never heard what anyone thinks or feels about what I have to say. I just say what’s on my mind, what’s in my heart. Its not meant to impress anyone either. Its just for me.

It makes me feel different. Like someone is listening to me. Like someone cares. Even if I can’t see them.

So thank you Suzie Jennings. Thank you for all your time and effort in what you have done for me, for all of us on Stone City Blog. We wouldn’t have this opportunity if it weren’t for both of you.

Steven Jennings has also been a big part of this for me too. He has been instrumental in teaching me what a Blog was and even helping me learn how to Blog. Between Steven explaining stuff to me and letting me read some of his books on blogging, I have found something productive to do with my time.

Thank you both…..

If you have any questions or comments that you want to ask or share with me. Feel free to contact me at JPay.com

How To Blog From Prison

Steven D. Jennings

trial bay gaol

Do you know anyone in the joint? If so, now is the time to give them a potentially life changing gift. Give them the gift of blogging!

As you know, I am an inmate. Blogging has helped change my life. It has created a community of support around my writing. This community helps inspire me to be the best I can be. I feel a sense of connection and fellowship.

Blogging could be a valuable tool used to rehabilitate the inmates who truly want it. For this purpose, my wife and I have created Stone City Blog to help give inmates a voice.

Please tell your incarcerated loved one about this opportunity. It just might change their life for the better.

I am Jonthan Gordon, incarcerated here at Stafford Creek. I have been blogging on this site since 2015, it has been an enjoyable experience & I have learned a lot from the people who started this blog (Steven Jennings & Suzie Jennings). It’s amazing what people can do from prison, especially when they open up new worlds & avenues that most people never imagined could be innovated b the minds of people who are incarcerated.

Hopefully we can be an inspiration to others in prison & in the free world to believe in themselves & to know that all dreams can come true. People in prison have hit rock bottom, lost everything & in some cases everyone, but were still able to build from a solid foundation, start over, escape the binding chains of addiction, abuse, or whatever have you that was holding people back & change lives for the better, for the positive & have a reason to wake up in this dungeon & be happy & love life.

Thanks to all the people who have shown support & cared enough to be interested in what we have to say & to get to know us for who we are. Also thanks to all friends & famul who have done the same

take care, sincerely

Dear Suzie Jennings,

Thank you so very much and please know this affirmation is on the wonderful job you are doing.  Should of got air time months ago, I do sincerely apologize for that not taking place.

The job that you do is a big part of your heart, In giving us the rights to letting the world read our words, in sharing, truth, fiction, and giving knowledge with understanding.

As you see I love Blogging because it also gives me a chance to give back, and bring a better understanding to another for sharing something new that could bring ones life to be better, its so much more.

But it all starts with the wonderful job that you’re doing and its very much recognized.

So if there is anything I could do to make your job easier or to assist in bringing better for Stone City Blog please feel free to let me know.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
